Fitness Focused: Active Older Adults

At the Y, age is just a number and movement is for life. Our Active Older Adult classes are designed to keep you strong, independent, and socially connected. Whether you’re building balance, increasing flexibility, or simply looking for a safe and supportive place to stay active, our senior fitness classes offer a welcoming environment to move at your own pace and feel your best.

But it’s not just about exercise, it’s about connection. We host regular seasonal events and fun social gatherings just for our older adult members. From morning coffees and holiday luncheons to group trips and themed soirées, there’s always something to look forward to and a community to lean on.

Our NEW Y Personal Training Program will give you 1:1 access to certified trainers who build customized fitness plans based on your unique goals, lifestyle, and schedule. Friday, November 28, 2025 – Friday, January 9, 2026 | Association-Wide Challenge, All YMCA of Reading & Berks County Branches

Cost: $15 (includes T-shirt)

Start your New Year, New You journey early, and have a holly jolly time doing it!
The Run, Run, Rudolph Holiday Fitness Challenge is an association-wide competition connecting Y members from every branch across Berks County. Join the fun, find your motivation, and keep moving through the holiday season with a team cheering you on every step of the way.

It all kicks off Friday, November 28 during the Turkey Burn (9–11 AM) and runs through Friday, January 9, 2026. You’ll earn points for attending fitness classes, completing weekly challenges, and spreading that Y holiday spirit.

  • Check in 1 pt
  • Attend group fitness class 1 pt (max 2/ week)

  • Attend a fitness class at another branch (1 pt)
  • Donate two canned goods at the Turkey Burn (1 pt)
    • All donations will go to Reading Y Housing
