Reading YMCA Childcare Center
Located in the heart of downtown Reading, PA, our STAR 4 childcare center has offered reliable care to our community since the 1980’s.
Pre-K Counts (3-5 years)
Did you know that 90% of all brain development occurs by age five? That’s why Pre-K Counts!
Our Pre-K Counts Program operates at our Reading YMCA Childcare and provides free, full-day Pre-K to qualifying families in the Greater Reading area. The program serves children ages 3-5 and strives to prepare children for Kindergarten and beyond.

Before and After School Care (K-6)
Send your child somewhere cool before and after school! The YMCA of Reading and Berks County provides care to a variety of school districts at our Keystone STARS rated locations.
While you’re at work, you can rest easy knowing your child is making the most of their time. In each of our programs, students receive homework help, play large group games and sports, learn STEAM subjects through hands-on activities, and keep busy with a variety of other engaging activities!
School’s Out Program- Half Day and Full Day Care
In our School’s Out Half and Full Day Care, we provide a safe, fun place to play and learn to children in kindergarten through sixth grade. While you’re at work, you can rest easy knowing your child is making the most of their time.
Cookie Club at Tri Valley YMCA & Richmond Program Center
Cookie Club is a one-month session with four classes, one per week.

Summer Programs (K-6)

In all of our programs, we promise plenty of fun in the sun, physical activity, learning opportunities, and swim time or water play.
