No, Families should pack nut-free snacks and lunches daily. We are a PEANUT & NUT FREE program. Do not pack peanuts or tree nut products, including peanut butter, Nutella, granola bars, trail mix, or items labeled “may contain” nuts. We discourage campers from sharing food. To ensure a safe and unified experience for all campers during field trips and off-site activities, we provide each camper with one FREE camp T-shirt so everyone can abide by our policy below.

Camp T-Shirt Requirement: Campers are required to wear an official camp T-shirt for all field trips and off-site adventures including pool days. Failure to wear a camp shirt will result in a camper not being permitted to stay at camp for the day.

All sign-in and sign-out is done electronically through an iPad.

Only parents/guardians or authorized individuals (18+) listed in your account may pick up a child. Photo ID is required at every pick-up.

If your child shows signs of illness, you’ll be contacted to pick them up. Children must be fever-free and symptom-free for at least 24 hours before returning to camp.

Only medications needed for life-sustaining illnesses (such as asthma, diabetes, seizures) can be administered.

  • Medication must be brought in a zip lock bag, have the originally marked bottle with written administration instructions, and it must be labeled with the number of pills in the bottle.
  • All medications will be counted to ensure that no one else is using your child’s medication and the Director will inform you when the supply gets low.
  • The Director or head counselor will also record the administration of the medication on a medication log to ensure that each child is getting the medication correctly.

An individual care plan is requested for any child who has medical needs requiring extra care. In cases where a child has a severe allergy or would need life-sustaining medication, an individual healthcare plan would be completed by your child’s healthcare provider with your input and implemented by caregivers. The purpose of the plan is to provide our staff with specific medical information; medications and treatments required routinely, any modifications needed for daily activities. This helps staff safely support your child during camp.

The YMCA uses a positive discipline approach focused on teaching responsibility, respect, honesty, and caring. Repeated or serious behaviors follow a structured, multi-step discipline policy, which may lead to suspension or termination in extreme cases.
(Handbook pages 7–8.)

The YMCA has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying. Any bullying behavior is addressed immediately and may result in removal from the program. (Handbook page 8.)

YMCA staff cannot provide one-on-one care. If your child requires additional support due to behavioral issues, a personalized behavior plan will be created with the involvement of our staff, the child, and a parent or guardian. If this plan cannot be maintained, suspension or termination from the camp may occur. We encourage you to review the YMCA’s code of conduct policy with your child and ensure they understand its importance. Thank you for your cooperation in creating a safe and enjoyable camp experience for everyone!

Families should provide a copy of any IEP/IFSP/Special Education documentation so staff can better support your child.

If your child works with a Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS), please read our policy in our handbook and sign the acknowledgment form when you register.

Due to privacy concerns and the photo/video capabilities of smartphones, children may not use or carry cell phones at YMCA camp.

Parents are expected to model appropriate behavior, handle concerns respectfully, and avoid inappropriate language or actions while on YMCA property.
